Paris St-Germain manager Luis Enrique says the club back his decision to drop goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma for the Uefa Super Cup.

Gianluigi Donnarumma confirmed his imminent departure from Paris St Germain after he was effectively axed from the squad by manager Luis Enrique, who left the Italian keeper out of the Super Cup line-up.

Enrique has omitted Donnarumma from his squad for PSG's UEFA Super Cup final against Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday (August 13). This has pushed the Italy international towards the Parc des Princes exit door, and a Premier League switch to Manchester United or Manchester City could be on the horizon.
