While another Los Angeles County wildfire burned homes to the ground, the community of Altadena was also left devastated by a quickly moving blaze — one that has left at least five people dead and injured several others as it wiped out entire buildings.

Hundreds of evacuees from the devastating Eaton fire gathered in hallways of the Pasadena Convention Center on Wednesday, Jan. 8, amid gray, smoky skies, while ash rained down outside of the glass doors.

Firefighters are trying to mitigate the growing fire in Altadena, California, where a senior center is now in flames. Low water pressure and exhausted responders are impacting efforts. CBS News Los Angeles' Jasmine Viel has more.

The 1915 Spanish Colonial revival mansion, on East Palm Street in Altadena, burned down in the fire, sources confirm. The house was featured in seasons two and three of Hacks as Deborah Vance’s (Jean Smart) “side mansion” in Los Angeles. The character makes her primary home in Las Vegas.
