Indonesia President Prabowo Subianto said the government plans to retire all the nation’s coal power plants within 15 years to help stem global warming.

"We plan to build more than 75GW of renewable energy in the next 15 years [to replace coal-fired power]," said Subianto. Indonesia's deputy minister of energy and mineral resources, Yuliot Tanjung, acknowledged the country's heavy reliance on coal for electricity.
