News of an investigation by the Federal Trade Commission into Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) is "not a worry" with Chairwoman Lina Khan likely to depart with the arrival of the Trump administration, Wedbush Securities said on Friday.

The move by Khan, who has less than two months remaining in office before the Trump administration takes over, is one last attempt to rein in Big Tech.

Microsoft ( MSFT, Financials) is under investigation by the Federal Trade Commission for alleged anti-competitive practices, but Wedbush Securities views the inquiry as having limited impact with a potential change in leadership at the agency. Following the approaching change to a Trump presidency, FTC Chairwoman Lina Khan is set to resign.
