Barcelona will host the final race of the MotoGP season next week in place of flood-hit Valencia, organisers Dorna announced on Tuesday.

It is now official. The last Grand Prix of the MotoGP season will take place from November 15 to 17 at the Montmeló circuit in Barcelona, replacing the 'Ricardo Tormo' circuit in Valencia,

After initially wanting to run the 2024 MotoGP finale at Valencia as planned on November 15-17, MotoGP made the right decision to cancel the event at the Ricardo Tormo circuit. However a replacement is scheduled for the same weekend and it looks like Barcelona will be the destination of choice.

The season finale in grand prix motorcycling will not take place in Valencia due to the severe flash floods in the region which have caused wide-ranging destruction and left more than 200 people dead.

MotoGP is poised to replace the cancelled Valencia GP with a new race in Barcelona, Autosport understands. The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is now set to stage the season finale on 17 November, having already hosted the sixth round of the championship back in May.
