Perplexity, known for their AI-powered search, have announced their plans to release 'Comet', a new web browser that aims to revolutionise browsing.

Perplexiity has entered the web browser market with an AI-driven agentic browser called Comet as part of its AI products expansion.

In a post to X on Monday, February 24, Perplexity announced Comet, describing it as “A Browser for Agentic Search by Perplexity”. Clicking through from that post allows you to sign up to be among the first to use the browser when it becomes available. There’s no word on when that will be just yet

When prompted, it searches the web for the most up-to-date information, but instead of producing a series of links, it responds to users in a way that’s more like ChatGPT.

Since its founding in 2022, Perplexity has been known for shaking up the world of online search. With the debut of Comet, the company is aiming to expand its innovation beyond search engines and transform how users interact with the internet.

The company is offering scant details about this browser called Comet, so I asked Perplexity AI for more information.
