A storm system known better a "bomb cyclone" hit the West Coast on Tuesday, resulting in two deaths, power outages for hundreds of thousands (mostly around the Seattle area), bringing heavy rain, landslides and flooding to much of Northern California into Friday— and is moving down the coast into Southern California this weekend.

A second bomb cyclone is forming over the Pacific Ocean on Thursday that will re-launch a strong atmospheric river into the San Francisco Bay Area on Friday, forecasters said. “A secondary surface cyclone is forecast to develop off the Northern California coast (Thursday).
