One of my favourite nights of the whole year: our street bonfire party. Established in circa 1948 (and it’s taken place almost every year since) with everyone clubbing together to put on a bonfire, fireworks, mulled wine for the adults and snacks for the kids. It’s something I sometimes don’t think I have time to organise but is always always worth it. It’s wholesome, introduces our new neighbours to each other and is just a really lovely thing to do.
