Cold weather days are some of our favorites on the farm 🍓❄️ When temperatures drop, our strawberries ripen slowly, giving them time to build up natural sugars — what we call brix. The result? Sweeter, more flavorful berries you can truly taste. If you’ve ever wondered why winter strawberries are so good, this is why. Join us for sweet strawberry U-Pick this weekend, Friday, January 23–Sunday, January 25 from 10am–4pm and experience the difference for yourself. We can’t wait to see you out in th

We’ve gotten a lot of questions about why we run our sprinklers when it’s freezing and it’s all about protecting our crops. When temperatures drop to freezing, we turn on overhead irrigation. As the water freezes, it coats the plants, flowers, and fruit at 32 degrees. That freezing process actually creates heat, helping protect the crop until temperatures begin to rise again. It may look strange, but this “ice blanket” plays a huge role in keeping our plants and our season alive. 🌾🍓🫐 | Amber

This freeze is unlike anything we’ve ever experienced. Between the cold temperatures and wind, we’ve been up all night doing everything we can to protect our crops. Moments like this remind us that farming isn’t just a job, it’s a way of life. It takes resilience, patience, and showing up even when the it is something we haven’t experienced before. As we continue to feel the effects of this freeze through tomorrow, we’re incredibly grateful for the support from our community. We’re praying for o

When a freeze is in the forecast, we’re constantly on the move by driving the farm, checking fields, fixing broken irrigation, and monitoring conditions through the night. Yesterday afternoon, we turned water on our plants. Within hours, they were completely covered in ice. That’s intentional. Our plants and especially our strawberry and blueberry blooms can’t survive freezing temperatures on their own. Those blooms are what create our season. No blooms means no berries. By running overhead spri

🍓 Strawberry Festival Update This strawberry season has tested us in ways we didn’t expect. Because of these recent freezes and the care required to protect our plants, we’ve made the difficult decision to reschedule our Strawberry Festival. We’re excited to welcome you back to fields that are thriving and ready for a great day on the farm. With that being said, this Strawberry Festival will feel different than years past, it will be a true celebration of this season’s hard work so far, and we
