107 years ago today, Norwegian explorer Roald Amundsen, announced the discovery of the South Pole. In October 1911, Amundsen led an expedition of five men to the south pole. Almost two months later, on December 14, Amundsen arrived at the pole, left a small tent and letter stating his accomplishment. On March 7, 1912, Amundsen finally arrived at Hobart, Australia, where he publicly announced his success. This is the original film of the expedition. | HistoryBites
