Replying to @Becky Webb Aleman I really wish there were a phonics rule for EY. I even did a little digging to see if EY comes from a certain layer of our language and it doesn’t. Thus Y is more common and we want to teach that first. Y can also be a suffix creating an adjective. Fun y = funny. Y saying E is more common, so we wanna work with that first. Then later on, we can introduce EY and the EY words students will encounter. it’s just a matter of making them aware of EY, letting them read th
