Chincoteague, Virginia celebrated the 100th annual Pony Swim with thousands in attendance, featuring a historic pony swim and an auction for fire services funding. Hundreds of ponies swam across the Assateague Channel at slack tide. Once ashore, the ponies were paraded through town to the Chincoteague Carnival Grounds, where they will be auctioned off to help manage the herd size and raise funds for the fire company.
